Jenny and Joe-October 10, 2009
On Saturday, we had the honour in being apart of Jenny and Joe's wedding celebrations. It was the morning of the first snowfall, with a crisp cool breeze. The day couldn't have been more perfect. Jenny and Joe planned a traditional native wedding, which was a first for us! We couldn't have been more thrilled to be able to experience all of the culture and love their family shares.
The ceremony started at 11 am with a beautiful civil ceremony. The bride was stunning wearing a simple white dress, carrying a feather instead of the traditional bouquet. After the civil ceremony, the traditional native ceremony begun. I can't say enough good things about this wedding.
They had the traditional drumming where the bride and groom shared their first dance. The ceremony lasted about two hours, and definitely brought a tear to my eye. The bride and grooms love for each other was enriching. The hall was decorated in the traditional medicine wheel colours (red, yellow, white and black).
This event was also a big one for us because not only were we wedding coordinators, but we also were caterers! Yes, that's right-we cooked! The reception was filled with approximately 90 guests (25 children) and everyone enjoyed our home cooked meal! This is not a regular item on our services, but the bride and groom wanted a yummy home cooked meal and we couldn't refuse!
Alas, here are some photo's of their unique wedding day!

Wedding Show Tips For Brides
I'm getting started a bit early on this post, only because I was asked by a bride a few questions about the wedding show. This years Wedding Wishes Formal Affair will be on November 8, 2009 from 11:30 am-4:30pm. Here are a few good tips for you brides who are planning on attending this year:
*Set up a wedding email specifically for the show. You will get tons of emails from vendors after the show, and you don't need to have your regular email spammed. This way you can sit down one day and go through your wedding email to look for specials/deals vendors may be having.
*Make labels with your name, address, phone number, event date, and email on them. This will save you tons of time since you will need to write this information down at every vendors booth you decide to go to. I actually learned this from a bride on our first wedding show we had a booth at!
*Never feel pressured into anything. Remember, you are going to the wedding show to meet all the different vendors, not to sign contracts. If you do find a vendor that you're sure you'd like to book-then great! Feel free to book them if you can. Some vendors actually would prefer to meet with you at a later date to do so.
*If you meet a vendor that you'd like to book, make sure you follow up with them shortly after the show. Most of the vendors book up fast after a wedding show, so if you want the best of the best, be sure to act on it quickly.
*Wear comfortable shoes! I can't stress this enough. You will do a lot of walking around, and you'll want to be comfortable.
*Most of all, have FUN! This is your day to get out and have a full day filled with wedding things all in one stop.
See you there!
